Åke (Rolf) Rolfstadius, really Rundquist, born 30.05.1918 in Lunda, died 1992; he was a Swedish painter, graphic artist, sculptor and ceramists.
Rolfstadius started as a ceramist and established Haga Art Pottery in Solna before he went over to sculpture and mosaic work. He studied at Grünewald's painting school in Stockholm, Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris; he did mosaic studies with professor Bovini in Italy and at Château Raffilly in France.
Amongst his public works are a number of monumental works in Italian glass mosaic with gold and silver tiles for Cloettas foyer, a triptych for Stensele Chapel and a number of Altar paintings, and decorations for various embassies and the relief panel Hamn at the Karolinska University Hospital. With his wife he created a Crucifix for the Gustav Vasa Church, Stockholm. His paintings are mainly landscapes, often from the Mediteranian and south America. he sculpted in terracotta, stoneware and wood.
