CARL FAGERLUND, a single glass table lamp with grey green glass enclosed in clear glass, signed Orrefors RD 1304 to the glass and fitting, rewired and PAT Tested.  Swedish 1960's.

Carl Gustaf Vilhelm Fagerlund was born in 1915, died 2011.  He graduated from the Högre konstindustriella Skola - now Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm as a drawing teacher in 1943.  He then worked as a drawing master at Solbacka läroverk 1943-1944.  In 1944 he was appointed as lighting architect with ASEA in Stockholm and in 1946 he took the same post at Orrefors glass works.  Apart from his many designs for the home he also undertook many public commissions - Prins Eugen's Waldemarsudde, Frederiksbergs Town Hall, Hotel D’Angleterre and the Mercur Hotel in Copenhagen, Kiruna City Hall, the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, Möllevångens Church in Malmö, and for the General Motors head office in the USA.
